Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Colombo & City Exploration
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Colombo, the vibrant capital city.
Take a stroll along Galle Face Green at sunset, a popular seaside promenade filled with local food stalls and kite flyers.
Visit the Gangaramaya Temple, which features a unique mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese architecture.
Day 2 - Cultural Triangle: Sigiriya & Dambulla
Travel toward the Cultural Triangle and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with over 150 Buddha statues.
In the afternoon, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient “palace in the sky” with famous frescoes and 360-degree views.
Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry dinner at a local village-style restaurant.
Day 3 - Kandy’s Sacred Traditions & Hill Country
Drive to Kandy, making a stop at a Spice Garden to learn about the cultivation of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world.
End the day by watching a cultural dance performance featuring traditional costumes and fire-walking.
Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya: "Little England" & Tea Estates
Head further into the central highlands, stopping at the Ramboda Falls for a scenic photo break.
Visit a lush green tea plantation and factory to see how the world-famous Ceylon tea is processed.
Explore the colonial-style architecture of Nuwara Eliya town and take a relaxed walk around the serene Gregory Lake.
Day 5 - Southern Coast: Bentota & River Safari
Descend from the hills to the coastal town of Bentota, known for its golden beaches and water sports.
Embark on a Madu River boat safari, gliding through mangrove forests and visiting a cinnamon-peeling island.
Visit a local Sea Turtle Hatchery to learn about conservation efforts and see various species of baby turtles.
Day 6 - Galle Fort & Departure
Take a morning trip to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, exploring its charming cobblestone streets and Dutch-colonial buildings.
Walk along the fort ramparts for a final view of the Indian Ocean before heading back toward the airport.
Stop in Colombo for some last-minute shopping at the Dutch Hospital Precinct or Odel before your departure flight.
