Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Nairobi & City Life
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your hotel for a briefing on your upcoming safari.
Visit the Giraffe Centre to feed the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes from a raised wooden platform.
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, such as the famous Carnivore, to experience traditional Kenyan hospitality.
Day 2 - Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Drive south toward Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive across the acacia-dotted plains.
Watch for lions, cheetahs, and diverse birdlife against the backdrop of Africa’s highest snow-capped peak.
Day 3 - Full Day in Amboseli
Embark on early morning and late afternoon game drives to catch predators when they are most active.
Visit Observation Hill for a panoramic view of the park, including the swamps where elephants and hippos gather.
Opt for a cultural visit to a traditional Maasai village to learn about their ancient customs and nomadic lifestyle.
Day 4 - Great Rift Valley & Lake Nakuru
Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, descending into the scenic Great Rift Valley with stops for photography.
Take an afternoon game drive around the lake, which is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinoceroses.
Look for the famous pink flamingos that line the shores and the rare Rothschild’s giraffes in the surrounding forest.
Day 5 - Journey to the Masai Mara
Travel to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem.
Settle into your camp and head out on your first game drive in this premier wildlife destination.
Keep an eye out for the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) in the vast rolling grasslands.
Day 6 - Full Day in the Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring different sectors of the reserve, including the Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles.
If visiting between July and October, witness the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras.
Consider an optional sunrise hot-air balloon safari for a bird’s-eye view of the savannah and its inhabitants.
Day 7 - Final Game Drive and Departure
Enjoy one last early morning game drive to spot any elusive species you may have missed.
Have a final bush breakfast before beginning the drive back to Nairobi.
Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to see rescued baby elephants before transferring to the airport for your flight.
